So I’m over 70,000 words into Book 2!

This definitely feels like a milestone. And yet I feel there are so many basic things that are still wrong with it, that I haven’t figured out yet. Or obvious things that I should be emphasising and that I haven’t even mentioned. But I think this is par for the course. My experience, from the last one, seems to be that you only find out what the book is really, really about … not just the top-line description but the real heart of it … once you’ve finished several drafts. Pity, but that’s just the way it is …
